Lisan means لسان, language, and tongue.

Lisan is a full after-school program where children speak, read and write Arabic and explore the cultures that speak it. Food, music, poetry, proverbs, sports and the great ideas of the Arab world are the way in. It is open to every child and built to meet the rules for City Council funded programs.

What students learn.

Speak

Greetings, shopping, family, school and city life, practiced in pairs and groups every session.

Read and write

The alphabet in every form, then words, sentences and short texts, with calligraphy as art.

Explore

Poems, Juha tales, songs, markets, cities and the history of algebra, optics and maps.

Show

Each unit ends with a performance: a role play, a menu, a talk, a showcase for families.

How it unfolds.
