Ilm means علم, knowledge, science.
Ilm uses Arabic to learn real subjects. Students read short, carefully chosen texts in science, math, history and civics, then talk about what they read. The vocabulary of each subject becomes theirs, in Arabic.
What students learn.
Subject vocabulary
The words of science, math, history and civics, introduced in context and reused.
Reading to learn
Short non-fiction texts with a clear purpose and support for hard words.
Dialogue
Structured discussion: explain, compare, agree and disagree in Arabic.
Write it up
A short written response each unit: a summary, an explanation or a position.
How it unfolds.
The living world: plants, bodies and habitats.
Numbers and shapes: measuring, graphs and patterns.
People and places: maps, cities and how communities work.
Placed by level.
A short check on day one puts each student in the right group.
Families stay in the picture.
A unit summary with key words, so parents can follow the subject at home.
